NEBOSH IGC (International General Certificate) is one of the prime health and safety qualifications and a mark of international excellence. It lets you be recognised for your health and safety knowledge anywhere in the world. Whether you are an employer or an employee, it gives you a set of practical, valuable skills.

IOSH stands for the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, the Chartered body for health and safety professionals. It is a UK-based organisation offering professional qualifications that raise standards of health and safety in the workplace.

NEBOSH assesses the International General Certificate with an online Open Book Examination (OBE). Unlike a paper-based exam, it asks real-time scenario questions in which learners apply their skills with sound health and safety knowledge.

Since 2026 the two units are called GIC1 and GIC2 (IG1 and IG2 before).

GIC1, Management of health and safety: why we should manage workplace health and safety; how health and safety management systems work and what they look like; managing risk by understanding people and processes; health and safety monitoring and measuring.

GIC2, Risk assessment: physical and psychological health; musculoskeletal health; chemical and biological agents; general workplace issues; work equipment; fire; electricity.

25% of the fee is paid at admission. The rest can be paid in two instalments, but it must be cleared before the exam.

Until your registration details are submitted you can ask for a full refund, with nothing deducted. Once your details have been submitted for admission, the fee cannot be refunded.

IOSH Managing Safely, ISO, First Aid, Fire Safety and NVQ Level 6 start new classes every Monday. For the other programs, the campus tells you the next start date. Choose a morning or an evening class when you apply.
